Just not that good. Since this bar is right across from the ferry dock it gets a lot of traffic so I think the staff must just assume they'll get regular business and may not need to give top service. The menu was boring, and the ticket times were super long! The only bright spot was some of the staff. Hannah was really nice and we had a bar tender from down state who was a great conversationalist. Unfortunately, we ate here twice before we found Donegal Danny's which had much better food and a great drink menu.

This is an island tradition if you want a sandwich or a burger (The Shamrock Burger devlivered). There is no plan for seating here other than to fit as many butts in the chairs. They obviously sell a lot of beer but there's no list of the brands. The wine list is basic. I'd pass on the apps and whatever you do, do not order the calimari...it was a casualty of the fryer. During the winter, long after the boats stop running, this is a combo bar and community center. It does not pretend to be anything other than what it is. Our Romanian waitress, Corina, was very sweet.

Good food, atrocious service. Food took forever to come out (about 1 hr), beer picher was only 3/4 full, no silverware (even after asking), no plates for apps, waitress was indifferent. The "manager" apologized and said the wait times are normal because the cooks don't get along - blamed it on the kitchen. Way to not accept responsibility. Nothing comped, no attempt to make us happy. Big group came in after us and was long gone before our food arrived. Too bad a place like this can't figure out customer service. We'd recommend going elsewhere.

I think Donegal Danny's is a better pub, but Shamrock is fine for your Miller Lite fix ;)

Went to the Shamrock for lunch right after the ferry pulled in. It was kinda empty in the restaurant, We had the fish and chips and chicken salad wrap. The whitefish fillets were so fresh and really huge. The fries were just the right amount of crispy. The chicken salad wrap was sooooo good. It had a very fresh tortilla, I tasted cherries,celery, almonds, & very fresh chicken in he wraps recipe. Unusual & tasty! Definitely stop in the Shamrock when you are on Beaver Island!

What a fun bar. In fairness, there are not a ton of choices on the island so it's nice to see that the Shamrock does not take advantage of this fact. The servers were extremely friendly (like everyone on the island tens to be) and the food was really good. The seafood chowder was outstanding and my wife really enjoyed their fries and chicken sandwich. Price was what I would expect on a vaction but not gauging! Really good outdoor seating as well!

Nice stop for a beer & snack - calamari & smithwicks for me! Enjoy the patio on a sunny day with a great view of the bay. This should be your first stop once of the boat (of course, depending on the time of day you come in...)!
